Park Fun
The past few weeks, I have been spending my Fridays teaching home educated children in a park and it's been awesome. We have made parachutes to drop from the apparatus, made life size food webs and hunted for bugs and made keys for them (or, as I like to put it, Guess Who games).
Education can happen anywhere and it can be great too. It doesn't have to happen inside with books and by writing huge amounts. That part is needed, but it is usually the end part of education when everything has been learnt. The important parts take place when children are being stimulated and make connections between the various things in the world.
